Numbers inside Strings

This Section covers the first of two groups of worksheet functions that extract numbers or information from strings.

This group contains 9 'User-Defined' worksheet functions. It is further sub-divided into functions that extract numbers direct from a strings and those that extract information about numbers contained in the string.
The second main group contains 22 'User-Defined' worksheet functions. The main difference is that these functions extract data from a temporary database that describes each distinct group of numeric values found in a string. The groups can result in either integer or decimal numbers.
