Calling the find Duplicates function generates the following form.

The form has two primary parameters

• The data list for analysis. You must select a column by its letter name from the dropdown list.
  
• The method of duplicate analysis. You must select from one of three methods.

First duplicate in a series	Identifies the number of potentially unique records that are obscured by duplicates.	1st Dup
Second and all subsequent duplicates in a series	Shows those records you need to delete in order to create a unique series. Note that 0 or FALSE automatically returns a unique series.	2nd Dup & others
All duplicates	Identifies all records that are duplicated in the series.	All Dups

Remarks

This analysis requires that the list in ascending order. The process always asks whether you want to record the original order of the list.

The process computes using both string and numeric values or a mixture of the two.
